On Oct. 24, 2009, The 2009 China Forum of Economics of Language was successfully held in Shandong University. Scholars from over 10 famous universities and research intitutes attended the forum.

This forum was co-sponsored by Center for Economic Research, Shandong University and College of International Education, Shandong University. It is for the first time that sholars in economics and linguistics have made group dialogue in China. It shows that the study of economics of language has been carried out systematically in China. It enhances the mutual understanding of economics and linguistics, and is of great significance to the promotion of the interdisciplinary study, economics of language.
