On the afternoon of January 9th 2007, tenured Professor Chen Zhiwu of Yale University was invited by SDUCER to “Economics Forum Shandong University” to make two excellent speeches, respectively named “Can national ownership prompt the balanced development?” And “Reflection on Confucius culture in the angle of Finance-----Is it the end of the Piety in Confucianism?”
In the interaction round, students questioned actively and Professor Chen explained all patiently in an ardent atmosphere. There were continual applauses for his abundant knowledge and great humor. All participants learned a lot from him.
Professor Chen Zhiwu a celebrated financial economist, once studied in Middle South University and National University of Defense Technology in China, and got his Doctor degree in Yale University; his major researches are financial economics, market institution and its development history, capital market, finance history, bonds investment management, the operation of bonds law, enterprise management, company finance and organization strategy, stock market and pricing, debenture market and pricing, option pricing models and hedge, etc. he has issued a series of theses on American Economic Review and other international authoritative economic journals. Recent years he pays attention to China’s economic development and economic system revolution and poses a series of important theories and suggestions.
