The Ministry of Education has recently announced the name-list of “Changjiang Scholar Incentive Program” Special Professors for the year 2006.Professor Shao’an Huang of SDUCER is among the selected professors.
Professor Huang is dean of SDUCER, dean of school of economics of Central University of Finance and Economics, vice president of Shandong Economic Association, and part-time professor of Northwest University and Zhejiang University. He is the founder of Institute for Property Rights Study and Center for Economic Research, both of Shandong University.
Professor Huang’s main research fields are theory of property rights, theory of the firm, institutional economics and rural economy. He is a prominent scholar in the field of institutional economics in China. His monographIntroduction to Property Rights Economicsis among the earliest books studying fundamental theoretical problems of property rights economics in China. He published dozens of important articles onSocial Sciencein ChinaandEconomic Research, which proposed and discussed many theoretical points. He was selected into highest level of Excellent Talents Support Program of Ministry of Personnel in 1999, and into Excellent Talents for the New Century of the Ministry of Education in 2000. He was awarded Prize for Excellent Young Teachers of National Universities in 2001, Sun Yefang Prize for economics in 2004, and Prize for Chinese Rural Development Research when it was announced for the first time in 2004.
