Invited by professor Shao An Huang, Renowned Chinese economist Guanzhong James Wen visited Center for Economic Research on August 6, 2007.
Professor Wen received his Ph.D. in economics from University of Chicago in 1989, and now he is professor of economics of Trinity College . He was the chairman of the Chinese Economist Society in the year of 1999 to 2000. His main research areas are: China’s rural land institution, the relation between public canteens and the Great Famine in the people’s communes period, China's urbanization, and the impact of economic globalization on China.
Professor Wen discussed with teachers and doctorial students of CER on the topic of Jinan’s “small-property-rights” houses and other issues.
