The tenth China Law and Economics Forum was held from June 23, 2012 – June 24, 2012 in Chong Qing, co-hosted by College of Economics at Zhejiang University, the Center for Economics Research at Shandong University and editorial department of Economic Research Journal. Southwest University of Political Science and Law hosted this Forum.
After the opening ceremony, Professor Bingyuan Xiong from Department of Economics at National Taiwan University, Professor Shaoan Huang and Professor Jian Wei from the Center for Economic Research at Shandong University, Professor Shu Li from School of Economics at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Doctor Weiqiang Hu from erasmus university Rotterdam, Professor Binbin Zhou from School of Law of Sun Yat-Sen University and Doctor Ting Wang from College of Economics at Zhejiang University made speeches of “Commons, contrarian commons and between the two”, “Substitution Between Rent and Tax, Revenue and Real Estate Policy”, “Local political structures and Adjustment of the economic growth mode”, “Environmental regulation and productivity growth: a case study of the revision of APPCL2000”, “reflection on Article 35(1)”, “New research on evasion of law & law and economics”, “Social networking and informal financial systems”.
Then, the Forum was divided into five groups of theory and history, property and contracts, torts and crime, corporate and finance, Government and regulation in order to make discussion. At the closing ceremony, Doctor Xiaoning Long made a presentation entitled “right hypothesis theory and legal development in China". Professor Shaoan Huang concluded the forum and raised three ideas on development of law and economics research in China: 1) establishment of shared database; 2) foundation of serial publications of law and economics; 3) further promoting popularization and application of knowledge of law and economics, particularly in the application of legislation and judicial practice.
